Hi-de-hi, my darling audience! Hope this lovely spring day finds you in
good health, spirits and general circumstances...

It took a lot of hard work, but I've finally launched my first ever
jewellery "line". Up until now, all the items I created were either for
myself (to fit a particular outfit) or for someone else (to fit their
outfit!). A few weeks ago, all of a sudden the "collections" idea
popped into my head and this weekend saw the unveiling of the first
                                                       one.

I'll confess straight away: I'm a Jane Austen fan. Especially a Jane-Austen-men fan. Hehe. Mr Darcy,  Colonel Brandon, Mr Bingley or Mr Ferrars can knock on my door anytime, I'll be home!!! Hmmmm.....getting side-tracked here...

Anyways, I saw the latest TV version of Sense & Sensibility recently and noticed Elinor Dashwood wearing a lovely, dainty, delicate necklace - and that set my grey cells to thinking. They got to thinking that I could update that idea for the 21st century and "expand" Elinor's jewellery stash :-) So 12 necklaces and pairs of earrings later and voilą: the result can be see top left or here.

I'll be doing more series: next will be a modern linear colourful one, then back to more Jane A., then...who knows!?! As long as I have time (ohoh, problem) and beads (yeehaw: plenty!), I can create :-)

If you're looking for the snow pictures of a few weeks ago, I've moved them to the photo gallery here.

Toodles, all!

                                                       Monday, March 24, 2008

Yep! No news last week...too busy coming up with new creative
                                                       ideas :-)

I'm working on a few new lines of jewellery, the first one will be
announced in a week or two. It will be inspired by Jane Austen and
I'm very excited about it. Stay tuned!

Apart from that there's a new Spotlight this week in the form of a beautiful tulip, and there are some additional photographs under the Gallery. Also new this week: Painting!

Can you believe it was snowing here this morning?!? The whole world looked as if it had received a good dusting of icing sugar...but by the time I got my camera out it was already melting :-). So just a few little crystals on the left here.

Happy Spring xxx!

                                                       Monday, March 10, 2008

I'll confess straight away! There are no palm trees in my garden...
But it's very stormy out there today, and our trees and shrubs are
looking a bit like the windswept palms on the left here. If you're
experiencing the same kind of weather then all I can say is "hang
                                                       tight!!!".

It's my Gran's 81st birthday today, so I've made the birthday card which I made for her this week's Spotlight. Also new is a pair of earrings to match the Blue Moon necklace which was added earlier, and a lovely - "about to burst" - orchid picture. Hope you'll enjoy!

Visit numbers for the site are growing steadily - also thanks to a few like-minded people who have added a link to the site on their respective websites. Thank you...I really appreciate your support!

Back with more next week...

                                                       Tuesday, March 4, 2008

                                                       Hi world!

(Oh, oh, I thought if I just hid in this corner and yelled a very cheery
hello then you'd just move on and forget I promised you some
Favourite Things by this week. Because I still don't have them. But if
you're reading this then you've made it this far, so I can't hide it
                                                       anymore. Aiaiaiaiai!)

And after that intermezzo...! There's a new Spotlight this week, I was out playing photographer in the garden (see one of my feline sidekicks above - he's called Sydney, after Sydney Poitiers) and shot this gorgeous creation of nature (which means I photographed the flower, not that I killed the cat, of course!!!).

Apart from that, there's some more additions to the Photography section.

A bit of negative news this week...I have to admit I was slightly annoyed (although those of you who know me also know that "slightly" and "annoyed" rarely apply at the same time in my case...hihi). There is a serious bug (yup! resembling the eight-legged kind...eeeeekkkkkkk) in this lovely website creation program that I'm using. I really make every effort to ensure that the links and navigation bars on this site are correct (in fact, it's turned me a bit cross-eyed - but I'm hoping that will pass :-S) but an attacking swarm of something or other creepy crawlers is intervening: all the buttons work perfectly, but sometimes you'll see a text saying "Previous" (where there is no previous); or Next (where - you've guessed it - there is no next); etc. Everything's correct before I upload to the www and then once I do - bingo! My trusted Mr. IT Guru has come up with a possible solution - which will mean deleting and reprogramming all the navigation bars on the almost 200 pages of this site. Hmmmm..... Me, myself and I don't really feel like doing this, but ikke, moi and ich are also a bit perfectionist (no, please, no comments from backstage :-)) and so I will get stuck into that - hoping to fix it once and for all.

Etsy was a nice surprise: I sold a necklace and pair of earrings on the day it went online - talk about a boost! I'm about to add a new creation on there, a lovely golden brown set which I made just a few days ago. Go check it out later!

That's it from me for now...off I go back to crea-land...

                                                       Monday, February 25, 2008:

Hello and a wonderful top of the morning to ya! Ah well, yes, I didn't
quite reach my "Monday morning" deadline if you count that in local
time, but it's still Monday morning in a lot of places so I'm not doing
                                                       too bad!

I'm happy to announce that my Etsy shop is now open and ready for business. A lot of time and effort went into it (again: it's the photographing and formatting of photos which takes up most of the time) but I'm happy with the results - have a look here and make sure to let me know what you think.

Seeing that I was so busy with Etsy (and also because it was just a busy week :-)) I didn't finish the Favourite Things yet, but they are coming. This week's Spotlight will be a little delayed as well - first things first!

Have a great week, y'all!

P.S. If you want to be kept updated on major events (such as today's opening of the Etsy shop), please don't forget to subscribe to the newsletter - plan is to have it go out a few times a year. Thanks!

                                                       Monday, February 18, 2008:

The weather in Belgium is gorgeous today: the sun is out in full
force, and although it is very cool - it's just nice to have this feeling
of spring in the air, to be able to enjoy a bit of warmth and sunshine.
Wherever you are in the world, I hope there is some sun today to
                                                       brighten your day!

Well, well, well: there were about 120 of you to visit this site during its first week of existence. By all means: keep it up :-).

Late last week I added some more sites to the links page and more will be coming soon - check them out to see where I spend my surfing hours. I've also added a new spotlight for this week (which is at the same time the first EcoArt addition), plus a necklace, card and cross-stitch project - 10 extra points and a kiss from the teacher for the person who can identify which items are new...hehe.

This week I'll mostly be working on the "favourite things" page and also on adding a shop to Etsy. Stay tuned...

                                                        Wednesday, February 13, 2008:

Thanks heaps for all your congratulations and wishes regarding the
site's launch. It seems you like it :-). I'll do my best to add some new
items within the next few days. In the meantime, I've added the first
three links to the Links page.

A word of explanation about the guestbook: I know it's a bit strange to use...on most guestbooks, you just enter your comments on the page and they appear instantly - on mine, you have to send an email, and then I add your comments to the Guestbook page...The reason herefore is that normal guestbooks attract a lot of spam and I really want to avoid that. So, if you want to appear in the guestbook, bear with me and please send your comments to guestbook@kjforiginals.com.

Thanks and have a great day!
