I can’t quite remember how I got started on making greeting cards, but given that my Gran has been making cards for what seems like forever, my Great-Aunt joined in soon after, then my other Gran started and finally my Mum stepped in and got things organised and professionalized, I guess I just inherited the gene!
The ladies in my family have definitely got the better of me as far as quantity is concerned, but there was a time when I used to make my own Christmas cards (up to 40 or so each year), and then I started on cards for other occasions. I’m not doing Christmas cards anymore (which is to say: I now buy cards and then add a poem and some embellishments, so I don’t do them from scratch - although in 2007 I made an exception and went all out again) but I do cards for special occasions in my family or for friends.
