When I was little, my Mum used to knit all the time. First by hand, and then in the late 70’s with a knitting machine. She made some masterpieces, and kept our family in gorgeous knitted clothing for years.
I like to knit, but I find it very difficult to get the finished result to come out in the right size. It’s usually too large (no matter how many times I follow the instructions for the smallest size, I just knit too loosely), and then I don’t wear the finished result, of course. Which doesn’t stop me from giving it a try every so often, though…
